3. Prototype Notes
--------------------

Chicago South Shore & South Bend Railroad coach #39, built by Standard Car Company in 1929.
Originally built with a Pullman type smoking compartment and Baker hot water heater, it was
later re-built around 1946 and equipped with electric heat and a partitioned smoking area.
It was equipped with Baldwin 84-60AA trucks, with four 4W567-C11 traction motors, for about
840 total horsepower. These cars were capable of 75 mph speeds. It weighted 129,600 pounds,
had 48 seats, and was 61 feet long. Some of these cars were lengthened 17 feet and were
equipped with air-conditioning, but #39 retained its original length until retired around
1982. This car has been preserved by the Boone & Scenic Valley Railroad in Boone, Iowa.

The car as modelled is in it's 1970s condition, with rebuilt roof, later numbers and "Little
Train" logos.

--------------------------------------------

I would like to thank 'Electroburger', Lukas Lusser ('Swissie'), Dave Mewhinney, Don Ross,
Keith Wilson (CSS_SB702), and Chuck Zeiler for reference material and suggestions.
I'd like to thank Tim Muir for endless support, advice, testing and beautifully crafted 3D
parts and textures. Hey Tim, that's three years that we've been at it!
The cabview comes thanks to the hard work and kind permission of Carles Romero, and was
modified by Chuck Zeiler. Lukas Lusser also offered suggestions and help there.
I'd also like to thank Paul Deverter and Chuck Zeiler for their countless hours of help with
physics, sounds, lighting, testing, suggestions and other ideas. They've turned an adequate
shape into a real model! Thankyou
Thanks go to Chris Moyer for allowing me to use the Wabco AA-2 airchorn sound from his site
mentioned above.
As well as the above, I'd also like to thank Ted Ahner, Wayne Campbell, Bill Hall, and Mike
Rothenberg ('MrMike') for their comments and testing advice.
Thanks too to the folks on the Train-Sim forums.
