MONON's TRANSFER CABOOSES
These cars were built in Lafayette, Indiana, in 1956 and were built by the
Monon for the Monon. They were numbered 81551-81553.
MONON's
EXTENDED VISION CABOOSES
The first extended vision caboose was purchased from Thrall in 1951, and
was numberd 81515. In 1952, the International Company steel cabooses were purchased. Then, in 1956, the Monon built their own extended vision cabooses
in Lafayette, Indiana. They were numbered 81525-81532.

MONON's RIDER CARS
Also known as Head End Cabooses.was the name the Monon applied to several cars used to haul less than carload freight and crew members on local freights. Eight cars were constructed by the Lafayette Shops, but other cars were also used. Here is a roster of road numbers and types:

Notice the variations in paint schemes. There are differences even on the
same car in these pictures. These cars were numbered 81501-81509. All have a center cupola.
